About

While working on the design system at Unis (a special interest of John's), John met Josaf of Yelu Marketing who was working as a marketing person in late 2023. John started helping him with small freelance design, WordPress updates (some of which he was able to convince to try Webflow), and Webflow projects and while doing so, John noticed Yelu Marketing's existing website could really use an update. As a result, John provided a fresh redesign and build as a special deal to help him get more work with the confidence that could them both win more projects.

John reluctantly left Unis after working on the design system to attend a special school session at Santa Monica College, but didn't forget Yelu Marketing.

While John had several years of more traditional web development experience, he wanted to learn and work with more Webflow as he found it to be an exceptional builder experience and suitable for many use cases that benefited clients. Yelu Marketing provided the perfect opportunity to help familiarize and sharpen Webflow skills and understand the Client-First approach with smaller projects that while lower in scope, provided less risk but huge gains in exercising Client-First building within constraints on the Webflow platform.
